On March 15, the 2^nd meeting of 2008 of Criminal Law Committee of Hangzhou Lawyers Association, i.e. the proseminar of “Methods and Techniques for Evidence Examination in Criminal Case Trials” was held in the Juxingdao Island, Xianhu Lake. Senior Partner of the Firm, Director of the Criminal Law Committee Lawyer Hu Dongqian and Lawyer Wang Quanming, Lai Xiaoming, Wei Yongqiang, Wang Xiaohui, and Wu Xiande attended the meeting. Vice president of Hangzhou Lawyers Association Mr. Chen Youxi attended the meeting and made comments as the special guest.

During the meeting, Lawyer Hu Dongqian made an excellent speech. After pointing out the importance of the evidence examination, Lawyer Hu illustrated with his 3 successful cases methods and techniques of 3 aspects, i.e. setting one's spear against his own shield, taking evasive and devious action, and serving the opponent with the same sauce. At the end, Lawyer Hu Dongqian shared with the members his own experience in 4 aspects, i.e. firstly, to make sufficient preparation before the trial and get familiar with the facts, the evidence, and the relevant rules; secondly, to cling to the key evidences and grasp the breakthrough; thirdly, to be calm and play it by ear; fourthly, to made necessary communication with the person in charge of the case.

The vice Director of the Committee, Lawyer Liang Jianwei and Secretary-General Lawyer Xu Zongxin also made speeches.

With a clear-cut subject and intensive discussion, the proseminar was beneficial for the criminal defense lawyers to improve their practice skills.
